I'm busy finishing up a few gifts. I always start too late!
In the holiday rush I sent some off without getting their portrait taken. Oops.
I'm going to spend this afternoon sipping peppermint tea and sewing the last gift on my list, monogrammed pillow cases. I'll be sure to have classic Christmas movies playing all the while. Oh, and there will be over-eating involved.

I found a few yards of this vintage fabric at a thrift store recently.
Hey do you want to see my scary wild animal about to bite your face off?
Roar! He's wild and scary. And cute, which is a good thing because he has this annoying habit of eating off the ends of the broom and barfing it up on the floor in the middle of the night. We give him plenty of nice grass to munch on, he still seeks out the broom.
Weirdo.
Now I must get back to my random day. Lots of running around to do. I do enjoy my little walk from my front door to the car lately though. There's a pretty path just for the girls and me. I refuse to rake this up until it get's all brown and mushy.

I just finished my second ever full pair of socks. Glory be. The second sock has been sitting in my knitting bag for a loooooong time. Once I decided it was pathetic and time to get the little fella finished, it went so quick! Why didn't I finish these last year? They are so comfy and cozy and I love them.
Taking pictures of socks while you're wearing them is a little tricky. But I rolled up my pants and gave it a go. My kids think I'm weird.
So does Cowgirl Rosie.
Have you noticed my beautiful bag in the background? I am in love with this bag. My dear friend Sabine sent it to me for Christmas!! Her package came all the way from Germany and took f o r e v e r to get here. They usually take 2-4 weeks to arrive from Europe. It had been well over a month and we were quite worried about it. When it finally arrived it was full of amazing gifts, and this bag was the last one I opened. I couldn't believe my eyeballs. I opened it in the car with my girls on the way to their dance classes. I just squeeled and clapped my hands. Once again, my kids think I'm weird.
This Cath Kidston messenger bag is the stuff of my dreams! Thank you Sabine!!
Now I'm at work on a new pair of socks. I hope these don't take me nearly as long to finish.

I unpacked the Crystal Pine Tree. Given to us by my mumsy-in-law. She gifted me with lots of treasures that had belonged to her mother. This is the first time I opened this wonderful box.
Oh my new Crystal Pine! Since it's 'Attractive anywhere', I decided to put it in my sewing room. I also decided to put it in my sewing room so Mr. Precious wouldn't break it to pieces. Not that he ever does anything naughty.
Oh no, he's the perfect little gentleman.
Back to the tree. It makes me happy. Happy in a way only a little old plastic tree with little old glass ornaments could.
We're starting to feel all Christmas-y in these parts.
Hot chocolate with marshmallows.

A warm fire.

I won these trees at bunko! They look like ice and have lights in them that change color.
Mama brought me a couple of antique dust pans last time she was here. One is hanging by the front door and contains Rosie's leash and doggy poo-poo bags. The other one is hanging here.
(Yes, still have the tape on the stove. It's been working to keep the cat from sleeping up there, but doesn't look so pretty. )
Even got a little knitting in. Arm warmers for my girls.

And now my dear friends, some nice random pictures. As I was thinking of what to blog about this morning I just started snapping pictures of random things that I love. I do have some nice project photos of my tea swap gift but I can't show them to you until my swap partner gets her tea goodies. I should take this time to answer the many questions that you lovely ladies have asked and I haven't answered yet. I'm so sorry for being a slacking non-email answering punk. I love each and every comment that I get. And appreciate all of your great questions. So my silence doesn't mean that I don't care, please know that. It just means that I can be sloooow at getting things done. And time gets away from me at lightening speed.
I love these red and white ribbons that an older gentleman from church gave to me. He knows that I love sewing and thought that I'd like them. I think that they were from his wife's sewing stash. Sweet.
I adore this old iron that I picked up at a thrift store for $1.
I'm constantly needing to switch my sewing machine feet. This little tin that my friend Sabine sent me is perfect storing my most used feet.
Sabine also sent me these little treasures. I am in love with my little red polka dot needle case. That little cutie in the picture is of my husband when he was 2 years old.
Meet Freya. She was expertly knitted by the talented Lisa. I saw her in Lisa's Etsy store and had to have her. She's so adorable. And Lisa even made her a little blanket for her journey.

Ok, moving on, what's next..... How about a lampshade? That's pretty random. I glued some lovely beaded trim onto it yesterday. I love this trim.
An old fabric covered hanger. Wait a minute....I can answer a question here! One of you dears asked me if I made this myself and if I knew of a pattern. Unfortunately no. I found this in a thrift store. I would like to find some wooden hangers in this shape though. I think it would be a fun project.
Hey look! Here we all are, sewing away. We must all go to the same hairstylist. And never eat.
While I was taking all of these random pictures this morning I remembered that there IS something I made that I can show you. It's just a little thing. Remember my red polka dot needle case from Sabine? Well it was so cute I decided to try and make one myself. So I traced around it and made myself a little paper pattern. It turned out just the same! Little Sis wanted one so badly, she chose some fabrics and waited patiently. She loves it and put her needles in it right away.

She made these for me! Let me tell ya, cleaning just got cuter. Love these.
