I seem to be back to normal today after two days not feeling so swell. We have a bit of a cold moving around our house and of course I had a horrible headache to go along with it. But last night I started to feel much better, and decided to make our little girl a new bed.
This was a super simple dog bed made out of jeans and some poly'fill stuffing. I chopped the legs off of two pair of jeans, cut them open and stitched them back together to make two flat pieces. Then I measured and drew a large rectangle and rounded off the corners. Next I stitched along the lines I drew, trimmed my seam allowances, turned it right side out and stuffed her up. Then I quickly slip stitched the opening closed. Voila! A nice cozy dog bed.
Rosie really likes her new bed. She was actually jumping on it and trying to snuggle in while I was stuffing it.
She was sleeping so sweetly until she noticed me taking her picture. Then she got suspicious of me with the camera. I wonder why......
Oh ya. Sorry Rose.
I promise to make it up to you. With this new bed and some tummy rubs.
I think she's feeling better.
Look at this skinny girl. I swear we do feed her.
She's a sweet skinny patient girl and she loves her new bed. It's fun to make a project that takes little effort, but is well loved.
I also got the urge to do a little drawing last night. I used to draw all of the time. It's just what I did. It was part of my identity. And then I just placed it in the back of my mind. Saving my drawing for "someday". But I have been missing it. I love being creative in many ways. And I have such a deep love for quilting especially. But my first creativity came through a pencil. And I miss that feeling. I miss my huge drawing board and having my fingers completely smudged up with graphite. So I started sketching from one of my favorite pictures of my youngest daughter. This is my first time drawing in years, quite a few years. It's just the start, and there will be lots of drawing and erasing, and re-drawing before it's finished. But it is a start.
I'm looking forward to getting back to this part of myself, that somehow got lost along the way. x

Love the bed! And jeans... I bet it's like sitting on a lap for Rosie. Our two Goldie's think they are lap dogs... maybe a bed from jeans is the answer! Hahaha... love her cowgirl look.
Your drawing is AMAZING! Wowie zowie!!!
PS... Stormy up here. Hope it's calmer at Case de ACQ!
