My dear friend Sabine sent this petite hand stitched heart for Christmas. I fell in love the second I saw it! It says 'Spatzl', which means 'darling' in German. I wish you could see it in person, the stitching is SO tiny.
It's hard to take a picture of something you're holding. This particular picture does show off my oddly shaped pinky finger quite nicely though. My pinkies curve in, don't hold it against me. Pinky is a weird word.
Anyhoo, I hung the heart where I'm sure to see it often. Whenever I'm pressing a seam.
It's snowing today!
I know most people who live in snowy areas are sick and tired of snow by now. I too am looking forward to spring. But, we get snow so rarely here that I'm quite excited! I could watch the snow fall all day long.
Of course the kids went out to catch some flakes. They also coaxed Rosie down the stairs to play. Which she did not want to do. I think she thought pure torture was falling from the sky.
"Put me back on the porch, put me back on the porch...."
"Let me back in he house, let me back in the house..."
"Why do they abuse me so?"
I would love to share with you what I am working on in the sewing room. But, it is a birthday gift for a friend, and I don't want her getting any sneak peeks! So I'll show you a couple more gifts from my Spatzl friends. Sabine sent me THE cutest Green Gate ironing board cover for my birthday recently.
It makes me want to iron.
My dear friend Therese made me the sweetest quilted hot water bottle cover. I've used it several times already as I've been sick for almost a month now. I've had the most nasty cold for weeks, sprinkled with lovely headaches. A nice hot water bottle on the head is so nice when my head hurts.
I love my wonderful and talented friends so much!
Well, I would love to sit and sew all day, but there is no snow day for us homeschoolers.
Aren't I mean?
Check in on me later, the kids may join the dog in a revolution. x
