I know I've said it before. I love foggy Oregon mornings. Especially as a special treat in the summer. This is what I see as I stand on my front porch waiting for Cowgirl Rosie to go potty. And that's exactly what I say to her, "Go potty Rosie." Or I'm not kidding she will stand on the walkway and close her eyes and not budge. She's that lazy in the mornings. Like this.
Then she looks at me like this.
Then she rubs her head on the walkway like this.
She can't believe my cruelty. But finally she does what she's supposed to do. And this morning I ventured off of the porch to snap a few shots.
Now let's go in and I'll share some of my new thrifted treasures with you!
Here are the aqua Ball mason jars that I found recently. I was so exited about these because they all had their lids with the white milk glass inside, you know the ones I'm talking about? I also found an old aqua wine bottle, an aluminum bundt pan and jello mold I think, an aluminum measuring cup, and various old cookie cutters. It's all so pretty.
This is the first one I've filled. It's holding powdered sugar. All of the others will be fulfilling their purpose as a canister soon.
I love these beautiful lids.
I've been keeping the violins filled with fresh flowers gals! Mom will be so proud..
Speaking of fresh flowers. I snipped these pretty ladies to put in the old wine bottle. I can't get over the color of this aqua glass. It's a little deeper than the Ball jars.
These things bring such a warmth to me when I look at them, and use them. I guess I feel they connect me to the past in some way. Where I can imagine my sweet grandma and great-grandma hard at work in the kitchen. Wearing home made aprons. With the wonderful smells of their cooking and baking, and the wonderful sounds of their kind chatter.
Speaking of some wonderful-ness, look what my mom brought to me to quilt for her. A vintage quilt that she found.
I love this quilt. It is all hand pieced, and the muslin is patched together in a really funky way. I love all of the colors, except the yellow. It annoys me... but in a good way I think, if that's possible. I'm a weirdo.
One more quilt to add to the pile... I'm way behind in my sewing.
Wow, this post has gotten long. Thanks for sticking with me! I have one more thing to show you that I'm exited about. I've been wanting a nice teapot for quite a while. We have a sweet little Brown Betty, but she's only a two cupper. I found this white one yesterday and it's just the perfect size.
Time for a cup I think. Thank you all for visiting me once again. I really appreciate each and every one of my kind visitors. Thank you for all of your sweet comments, and for putting up with me and my late responses, or no responses. I'm trying to get better about that, working on my organizational skills and all. :)
Have a wonderful weekend gals. xo
